Hello Friends! Spring is pretty much over here in the low desert southwest; we got our first triple digit day last week, but I want to share with you what the area around our little piece of the desert looks like when it is in full show-off mode. I hope you enjoy the photos.
ocotillo in the west front cactus bed
Opuntia ‘fiesta’ prickly pear ‘chenille’
creosote bush –smells heavenly after a rain
bougainvillea
Texas Sage
Dang, can’t find my clear photo of this beautiful bee attractor,
so this one with the wind blowing it around will have to do
Arizona never lacks for beautiful sunsets
Peanut Cactus in full bloom
Notocactus’ exquisite bloom
Cottontail and quail
This guy comes in every day for water
Thanks for stopping by Two Dogs Travel.
Beautiful pictures! The first poor prickly pear cactus is badly shriveled from 20-plus years of inadequate rain yet it bloomed it’s beautiful flowers. Plants can be amazing. Sylvia

Thank you, Sylvia! They certainly are amazing, especially this little trooper. Believe it or not it looks better than it did when I moved in, but though it has struggled and is still wrinkled and sad looking it blooms and has every year. Hoping by next year it will be even better. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you, Lindy! The Chiweenie Brothers can’t get to them. This bush is outside the Kool Cover and that’s (snake) fenced off behind the lattice; the reason the photo was so dark. I was shooting from under the Kool Cover and then then the creosote bush was shaded underneath with the sun behind it.

Cactus flowers are beautiful. And the cute little bunny that visits you everyday. So the Chiweeny boys don’t chase it away? 😊

I can understand why you love Arizona, except for the 3 digit temps. UGH! I love the different foliage that abounds in the spring. High Desert near Susanville is beautiful in the spring too. I didn’t take time to check it out, I needed sleep worse.. LOL night shift is hard on one!
Have a blessed summer!
