I wake up this morning in an odd mood, and I can’t put my finger on it. Oh wait, that’s it. It’s only 46 degrees in the van. I try to stay snuggled in bed at least until the sun has cleared the eastern horizon but it’s not to be. The three amigos need a potty break and once that’s done there will be no more snuggling or dilly dallying or a leisure mug of coffee. They will want their breakfast and they will want it NOW. Ohhhhhkay. Your wish is my command you spoiled little wire and weiners.
The above taken care of we head out for a nice long walk. My moodiness isn’t lifting, but I do sense a need to move on. Maybe that’s it. Maybe we need to head farther north. Havasu isn’t too far and I do want to see Parker Dam. It’s a beautiful clear morning. I took a few photos on our walk.
Back from our walk I check the charge controller on the solar and it’s in float mode meaning the battery is fully charged and I can unhook the connections and put the panel away for a couple of days. Intending on doing just that one thing I end up putting away a couple more things, another thing or two and everything is all but loaded up. Put in the step stool I use at the side doors and we could leave if we wanted to.
Not wanting to head north without checking for boondocking sites I pour the last little bit of coffee that’s left in the thermos into my mug and drag the laptop out, hooking it up to my phone and use it as a hotspot. It appears there are at least three BLM sites on either end of Lake Havasu City, and I take some notes still not sure that I want to leave. I really like getting an earlier start on travel days, but since it isn’t that far, around 30 miles, we could still head out. And shoot, since I have to go into Parker to get water anyway we might as well just head out. I have liked it here—not THE WORST DAY—but the rest of it was nice and we had this particular area all to ourselves, but I am restless and just feel it’s time to move on.
Parker is an easy place to drive in and we get to the water kiosk with nary a problem. Next we go to McDonalds for some free Wi-Fi. I want to download a few things off Netflix to watch off-line. Wouldn’t you know—The signal is POOR and I can’t get a thing to download. Not. One. Single. Thing. Dang it. I fire up our Vome and we head north to Alaska. I mean Havasu.
Thanks for stopping by 2Dogs! Hugs, Shawna
